UWA launched a review of its pathway provision in 2019 as part of a plan to deliver ambitious international growth objectives.
The previous pathways were delivered on satellite sites by different colleges, meaning there was no single seamless pathway to UWA for international students needing extra support.
UWA wanted to ensure the new pathway provision delivered high quality courses, strong outcomes and an exceptional, UWA branded student experience consistent with the ambition and status of a world top 100 university.
Following a highly competitive process, UWA chose to partner with INTO to establish UWA College to deliver UWA’s academic pathways and global student enrolment growth.
A new suite of academic Foundation and Diploma (equivalent to Year One undergraduate) courses for international students, aligned more closely with existing university strengths, was approved by Australia’s Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) with commendation:
"I'd like to commend UWA for submitting a comprehensive application. The Foundation expert made no recommendations and found the application to be of a very high standard."
TEQSA
The new college has achieved the highest student satisfaction scores of any partnership across the global INTO network.
